Civil War stylized as C I V I L W A R is the fourth album by the Minneapolis, Minnesota punk rock band Dillinger Four, released on October 14, 2008 by Fat Wreck Chords. It is the band's second album for Fat, following 2002's Situationist Comedy. Its recording and production took place over several years, and its release date was pushed back several times. The American Civil War also known by other names was a civil war in the United States from 1861 to 1865, fought between northern states loyal to the Union and southern states that had seceded from the Union to form the Confederate States of America. The civil war began primarily as a result of the long-standing controversy over the enslavement of black people. Civil War is a song by the American rock band Guns N' Roses which originally appeared on the 1990 compilation Nobody's Child: Romanian Angel Appeal, and later on the 1991 album Use Your Illusion II. It is a protest song on war, referring to all war as civil war and stating that war only feeds the rich while it buries the poor. In the song, lead singer Axl Rose asks, What's so civil about war, anyway. Civil War drums were made of wood that had been cut into thin layers, steamed, and formed into a round shell. The outside of a Union drum was often painted and featured a large eagle displaying its wings with the stars and stripes flowing around it. Confederate drums were not quite as fancy, many just having a plain wood finish. The Civil War in the United States began in 1861, after decades of simmering tensions between northern and southern states over slavery, states rights and westward expansion. Eleven southern states seceded from the Union to form the Confederacy. Ultimately more than 620,000 Americans' lives were lost in the four-year war that ended in a Confederate defeat. The American Civil War 18611865 was a civil war in the United States of America. It is sometimes called The War Between the States. The war was fought because eleven Southern states wanted to leave the United States of America. They formed the Confederate States of America, also called the Confederacy. The U. government and the states that remained loyal to it were called the Union. American Civil War, four-year war 186165 fought between the United States and 11 Southern states that seceded to form the Confederate States of America. The US American Civil War was the greatest war in American history. 3 million fought - 600,000 paid the ultimate price for freedom. And a war for freedom it was. The desire for freedom traveled deeper than the color of skin and farther than the borders of any state. There are hundreds of thousands of pages of information available through this site. The Civil War was fought in 1861 after decades of tensions between the southern and northern states over slavery, westward expansion and state rights. The election of Abraham Lincoln as President, caused eleven states to secede from the Union beginning with South Carolina and form the Confederate States of America. The Conflict ended in 1865 with the death of 620,000 soldiers of the 2. 4 million who fought the war. The Civil War was fought mainly because the two sides had different opinions about slavery. The southern states depended on farming as a source of income. They grew tobacco and cotton on plantations. Between the 17th and 19th centuries millions of slaves were brought from Africa to America, where they worked on white farms
